It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s Superman… And He Washed Windows at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital!

VALHALLA, N.Y. (May 31, 2017) - Just a couple days before the Wonder Woman movie hit the big screen, superheroes like Superman, Spider-Man, Captain America, Super Girl, Batman and others visited Maria Fareri Children's Hospital on a mission to fight…grime. Costumed members of TriState Facade Services of Poughkeepsie washed windows on the three-story Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, using special equipment to "fly" in front of the hospital's highest windows to complete their grime-fighting mission and entertain patients, family members, and staff who gathered inside the hospital.

The children cared for at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), are often hospitalized for long periods of time as they battle serious illnesses and injuries. Events like these offer fun and positive distractions for the pediatric patients and their families. The costumed window wash is the signature event of Superheroes Day at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. On Superheroes Day, May 31, 2017, staff and families joined in on the fun and wore costumes to recognize the real superheroes in the hospital – the children facing serious medical challenges.
