Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) recently welcomed Sean Tedjarati, MD, MPH, MBA, to the health network's leadership team in the network-wide role of Chief Clinical Integration Officer.

In his new role, Dr. Tedjarati will be responsible for the integration and strategic oversight of all clinical services across WMCHealth's 10 hospitals, ensuring that the care provided across clinical services and hospitals are streamlined, coordinated, integrated and seamless, resulting in the highest quality of care and patient experience. He will also be part of a team that leads the design of processes to maximize clinical efficiency, improve clinical integration and oversee the implementation of WMCHealth's network-wide electronic health records initiative.

Dr. Tedjarati joined Westchester Medical Center, the flagship of WMCHealth, in 2009 and has served as Chief of Gynecologic Oncology and Robotic Gynecologic Surgery, as well as Associate Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2015. He will continue to serve as Associate Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the time being and will continue his clinical services over the department. He has served to expand and enhance the services of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2015 with expanded service lines on the main campus and across the health network.

Dr. Tedjarati has received multiple awards, including national teaching awards, and he was honored with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor Award by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations, an award that is officially recognized by both Houses of Congress as one of the nation's most prestigious awards. Dr. Tedjarati has contributed to the field of academic gynecologic oncology and has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in textbooks in Gynecologic Oncology.

He is an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Medical College. His interests include patient-centered healthcare operations, efficiency and cost-effective care, innovation in care and leadership in healthcare management. He is passionate about international health and addressing healthcare disparities, with 20 years of experience in developing cancer care for women in developing countries. His clinical and research interests include robotic and radical/advanced surgical technologies and chemotherapy and targeted therapies for gynecologic malignancies.

Board certified in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics and gynecology, he completed residencies in Family Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University, as well as a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the world renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center and Research Institute in Houston, Texas. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Leadership in Healthcare from Yale University.

In his personal time, Dr. Tedjarati enjoys international affairs, martial arts, hiking and being outdoors, and international travel. He is involved in mentoring programs for disadvantaged and immigrant youth and volunteers internationally to address issues in women's rights, cancer care and women's healthcare.

In addition to English, Dr. Tedjarati speaks French and Persian fluently and is conversational in Spanish.
