WMCHealth Hospitals Raise Awareness During Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Events Across Hudson Valley

The public is invited to join the WMCHealth Cancer Institute in raising awareness by participating in the following events held throughout the month of October in Westchester, Dutchess, Rockland and Ulster Counties.

Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), home to cancer institutes and cancer support resources in locations across the Hudson Valley, will host events and activities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection and treatment.

Each year, more than 250,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society. The public is invited to join the WMCHealth Cancer Institute in raising awareness by participating in the following events held throughout the month of October in Westchester, Dutchess, Rockland and Ulster Counties.

Breast Health Symposium – October 4

8 to 10:30 a.m. |Good Samaritan Hospital Auditorium, Suffern NY

Good Samaritan Hospital experts will share expertise on topics including obesity in breast cancer, identifying and managing hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) analysis. To register, please email Ida_ramos-bendayan@bshsi.org.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk – October 14 & October 21

Join WMCHealth teams and walk to support breast cancer awareness in two Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk events.

Tune in for a medical talk show discussing breast cancer hosted by HealthAlliance CEO David Scarpino and marketing coordinator Gerry Harrington.


Girls' Night Out in Suffern – October 11

5:30 p.m. | Crowne Plaza, Suffern, NY
