Dr. Islam is Director of the Pathology Residency Program at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center. He also has an appointment as Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology and Medicine at New York Medical College. Dr. Islam is a skilled surgical pathologist.

Dr. Islam received his Ph.D. degree from Hokkaido University School of Medicine, Sapporo, Japan. He completed his residency in combined anatomic and clinical pathology and later he completed a fellowship in hematopathology.
