news item

Abuse/Risk Victim

If you're a victim of sexual assault, you are not alone. The FACT and SAAVE programs at Westchester Medical Center are here for you.  Our Forensic Acute Care Team (FACT) continues to provide forensic exams and evidence collection in our emergency department.  SAAVE also offers free comprehensive advocacy services and support for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and all forms of abuse and sexual misconduct.  Our crisis hotline 833.220.2444 is available 24/7/365.

During this pandemic we can safely offer our full array of support through tele-advocacy services. These services include accompaniment through forensic exams, safety planning, assistance with OVS reimbursement applications, referrals for mental health, medical, legal assistance, and other supportive care to help victims on a path to healing.

Rape and Sexual Assault Victim

The Sexual Assault Abuse and Victims Empowerment (SAAVE) Program can accompany and support you during the process through Tele-Advocacy services.  We're also here to provide free trauma informed care to assist all victims on a path to healing.  Our crisis hotline 833.220.2444 is available 24/7/365.

Volunteer Call to Action

Volunteers are needed for tele-advocacy services for victims of abuse and sexual misconduct.  Join our team of Advocates as we expand our Sexual Assault Abuse and Victims Empowerment (SAAVE) program to support victims of all forms of abuse and sexual misconduct.  According to national statistics, victims are expected to need our services more than ever in this time of high stress and life disruption.  You can help. Volunteers receive online training and certification. Volunteers can take shifts either on our hotline or for tele-advocacy services to victims -- from the privacy and safety of your own home. Email SAAVE@WMCHealth.org for details.
