Our Art Therapy program uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of patients of all ages. The creative process helps children cope with illness, reduces stress and increases self-esteem.

Music Therapy

Music Therapy is available for all children and families. A Board Certified music therapist uses music activities, both instrumental and vocal, designed to help with pain reduction, stress management, self esteem and emotional expression.

Support Groups

Westchester Medical Center is home to dozens of support groups for patients and their families where you can meet and interact with people who have had experiences similar to yours. Unit Based Action Team Volunteers

Volunteers greet newly admitted patients to facilitate communication between you, your family and the clinical or other service staff. These volunteers can address non-clinical guest service issues and act as a liaison between you and staff members. They may also interview you and other patients to acquire real-time satisfaction information.

Service Resolution

Difficult treatment decisions may sometimes cause disagreement between you, your family members, or your physician. We provide consultation with an ethics group consisting of specially trained doctors, nurses, clergy and social workers. They can review the facts of your case and offer recommendations to you, your family and your doctor based on the facts of your case.
