Specifically, his laboratory studies the role of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the development of preterm prolonged rupture of membranes (PPROM), intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), preeclampsia, and cervical shortening. Clinical areas of investigation include pulmonary conditions, and the variety of non-invasive and invasive modes of ventilation utilized to treat these conditions, including high-frequency jet ventilation, high frequency oscillatory ventilation and the VDR-4.
